"Redcode" is nothing but a gussied up JPEG2000

So, now you know... Redcode is NOT a "compression algorithm designed specifically for the Red camera" It's just a re-branded and re-wrapped variant of J2K

Great!!! most useful that reduser.net!!!! I did love this explanation, thanks a lot. Is my first post here, and Ive been only ten minutes, I need to know how store data on field, monitor on field, and security copies, I cant sleep with an entirely film on disk!

Excellent rundown on what is a dearth of information currently available on this technology.

After a day spend trying out the basic workflow of the recorded image in FCP from the first camera to arrive here in Dallas, I am in the discovery mode to get as much about RED as possible.
