Blog/Podcast Update

Well, I’ve just gotten over three weeks of insanity. Should have more time to update the web site going forward, although there hasn’t been much news lately, other than that Red is having a few production issues. (Probably nothing to worry about, looks like typical stuff when electronics go into mass production — most companies just aren’t so open about it.)

Our audio equipment should finally ship next week, apparently, so hopefully we’ll have a new podcast up soon. We’d have come up with another way to do a couple of we’d know the stuff would take so long to arrive. Oh, well.

I’m probably going to do a couple of workflow-related posts before then.

Podcast update

The bad news is that our next podcast, which will probably be on on-set workflow and data management, is presently on hold pending the arrival of some audio gear which is, naturally, backordered.

The good news is that, thanks to the new audio gear, our next podcast should sound quite a lot better.

Red & Apple NAB Review Podcast

Discussion of FCP 4K support, new Motion features, ProRes, IO-HD, Color, new Red lenses, and the future of indie cinema.

This is our first podcast. My parter in crime for this debut episode was Pierce Varous, one of the other two people in that three man operation alluded to in the ‘About the Author’ box.

This was a rush job with all the wrong equipment. Neither of of us is a sound guy, and neither of us had done this before. Still, we got something we’re actually willing to post in public, so things could have turned out worse. We’re hoping to add podcasting as a regular feature here, a couple of times a month or more, but we’ll have to see how things play out.
