Red engineering delay off

As per this post, Red is not longer being held up by the infamous (if vaguely defined) engineering delay.

That’s great news, and it hopefully means this blog should have more to report on than it has in recent weeks. We’re also moving into our new office space on Monday (finally; this has gotten pushed back a bunch of times), so Indie4K should be swinging into high gear over the next week, with regular podcasts (at last) and more info about what we’re working on.

Director Steven Soderbergh on Red

As per Jim Jannard’s post in DVInfo.net:

This is the camera I’ve been waiting for my whole career: jaw-dropping imagery recorded onboard a camera light enough to hold with one hand. I don’t know how Jim and the RED team did it — and they won’t tell me — but I know this: RED is going to change everything.

Soderbergh will be shooting his next two movies with Red prototype gear, including Red’s 18-50mm zoom lens. Filming starts in Spain July 24th.
